紐約市是美國最大的城市，坐落着6,486棟竣工高層建築物，[1]其中有113座高度超過600英尺（183公尺）。[2][3]這些高樓集中在曼哈頓中城和下城區域，曼哈頓的其他區域以及布魯克林、皇后區、布朗克斯的行政區也有一定數量的高層建築。截至2016年5月 (2016-05)，包含在建工程，整個城市中共有241棟高度超過500英尺（152公尺）的建築，[4]這遠超過美國其他城市。[5]

紐約市最高的建築是世界貿易中心一號大樓，高度1,776英尺（541公尺），於2013年5月10日封頂，2014年11月3日正式對外開放。[6][7]這棟104層高的摩天大樓同時也是美國最高、西半球最高、世界第六高的建築。[7][8]坐落於曼哈頓中城的帝國大廈，建於1931年，共103層，高1,250英尺（381公尺），含天線高1,454英尺（443公尺），[9]是美國第四高、世界第23高的摩天大樓。在其建成之後直到1972年原世界貿易中心110層高的北樓完工，曾一直保有世界上最高建築的桂冠。世界貿易中心（1,368英尺（417公尺））世界第一高的稱號並沒有保留很久，1974年位於芝加哥108層高的西爾斯大樓（現名威利斯大廈）完工後趕超了它。世界貿易中心雙塔在九一一襲擊事件中被毀，帝國大廈也因此重新成為紐約市最高建築，並一直持續到2012年4月在建中的世貿中心一號大樓超過它。紐約市第4高的建築是美國銀行大廈，含塔尖高1,200英尺（366公尺）。[10]並列第5高的是1,046英尺（319公尺）高、曾在1930年到1931年短暫成為世界第一高樓的克萊斯勒大廈，[11]以及完工於2007年的紐約時報大廈。

從2003年至今，紐約市共有24座高度超過600英尺（183公尺）的建築完工。包括全美最高建築的世貿中心一號樓，[7][8][12]另有12棟在建大樓。世貿中心一號樓是重建世界貿易中心計劃的一部分，此外還有1,079英尺（329公尺）高的三號樓、975英尺（297公尺）高的四號樓、743英尺（226公尺）高的[13]七號樓以及仍在興建的建築：1,350英尺（411公尺）高的二號樓。[14][15]

歷史[編輯]

紐約市建築摩天大樓的歷史可以追溯到1890年完工的世界大樓；該建築高達348英尺（106公尺）。[16]儘管它並不是該市的第一座高層建築物，它卻是首座超過塔尖高度284英尺（87公尺）的紐約三一教堂的建築。[17]直到1899年為止，世界大樓一直是該市最高的建築，而1955年為了給布魯克林大橋拓寬入口，該棟建築被拆除。[17]
