English: Allegory of the prosperity of the United Provinces of the Netherlands, with, in the background, a general and detailed profile of 阿姆斯特丹 seen from the 艾湾, which is filled with sailing ships representing the country’s provinces. Named places and monuments of Amsterdam are ’t Rijsen hooft, 泪水塔, 南教堂 (阿姆斯特丹), 老教堂, Koopmansbeurs, ’tstathuijs, 新教堂, Haringpakkerstoren and De Nieuwe stadt. At the top are 4 cartouches with views of 弗利辛恩, 米德尔堡, 鹿特丹 and 恩克赫伊森 (the country’s other most important sea trading places at the time), as well as 6 medallions with the bust portraits of 拿骚的毛里茨, 约里斯·范·斯皮尔贝尔亨, 奥利维尔·范诺尔特, 让·哈伊根·范林斯霍滕, 威廉·巴伦支 and 雅各布·凡·黑姆斯克尔克. In the bottom left corner is the printer’s dedication to 拿骚的毛里茨 and, in the bottom right, a dedication to the admiralties of Holland, Zeeland and West Friesland. |
