肠肾科（学名：Nyctotheridae）是纤毛虫门内大核亚门盔帽纤毛纲之下一个寄生虫的科[1][2][3]。有较旧的分类将其置于异毛纲异毛目。
本科及其所属的目栖息于海洋、淡水及陆地环境，并没有在咸淡水交界发现本科物种[2][3]。
语源[编辑]
本科的学名得名于其模式属肠肾虫属（Nyctotherus）；而肠肾属的学名又得名于意思是“夜晚”古希腊语的νυξ（nyx）及意思是“狩猎”的拉丁文ther。无疑是指它存在于动物体内肠子的寄生虫。
生物学[编辑]
本科物种主要寄生于蛙类[1]或龟鳖目物种的肠脏内；特别是本科模式属的肠肾虫属物种，寄生于两栖动物及无脊椎动物的肠腔内[4]。
