網絡廣播

網絡廣播（英語：Webcast）是使用串流媒體技術、通過互聯網將單個內容源分發給眾多同時收聽或觀看者的媒體呈現方式。網絡廣播可以是實況或按需分發。基本上，網絡廣播是通過互聯網進行「廣播」。[1][2]
大型的網絡廣播平台包括現有的廣播電台和電視台（通過線上電視或廣播的串流媒體同步廣播），以及大量僅限於互聯網平台的「電台」。網絡廣播通常包括提供非互動式線性流或事件。權利和許可機構向希望使用受版權保護的材料進行互聯網廣播的人提供具體的「網絡廣播許可」。
網絡廣播在商業部門廣泛應用於投資者關係介紹（如年度大會）、資訊化教學（傳送研討會）和相關通訊活動。然而，網絡會議與網絡會議不太相同，網絡會議通常是為多對多互動而設計。[3]
廉價、易訪問的網絡廣播技術已使獨立媒體蓬勃發展。已有不少引人關注的獨立節目通過廣播定期線上播放。這些節目通常由普通市民在家中製作，範圍涵蓋有關電腦、技術、新聞等諸多興趣和主題，並在不斷增加新的節目。
網絡廣播與Podcast的不同之處在於，網絡廣播是直播，而Podcast是將媒體檔案上載、存放到互聯網上。[4]

網絡廣播本質為通過互聯網分發媒體檔案。最早的網絡廣播相當於一個線上的音樂會，最早的一個例子是蘋果公司與企業家Michael Dorf和Andrew Rasiej合作的網絡廣播組。他們與蘋果公司的David B. Pakman在1995年7月17日至22日合作推出了麥金托什紐約音樂節。此活動的音頻網絡廣播由超過15個紐約市的俱樂部合辦。蘋果公司之後在1996年6月10日還舉辦了金屬樂隊[5]
1995年，Benford E. Standley製作了歷史上第一批音頻/影片網絡廣播（之一）。[6]
1996年10月31日，英國搖滾樂隊Caduseus從晚上11點到午夜12點（UT）在英國威爾斯Machynlleth的Celtica播放了他們一小時的音樂會——這是第一個現場直播音頻和同步直播影片多播——在全球範圍內二十多個國家的二十多個直接「鏡子」。[7][8]
1997年9月，內布拉斯加州公共電視台開始網絡直播來自內布拉斯加州林肯的 Big Red Wrap Up，該節目結合了每場 Cornhusker 足球比賽的精彩片段、教練每週新聞發佈會的報導、內布拉斯加州體育記者的分析、特邀嘉賓的出場以及觀眾的問答。[9]
1998年8月13日，一般意義上的第一次網絡廣播婚禮由Alan K'necht與Carrie Silverman在加拿大多倫多舉辦。[10][11]
1998年10月22日，第一次比利格雷厄姆十字軍東征在佛羅里達州坦帕的雷蒙德詹姆斯體育場向全球觀眾現場直播，由戴爾菲肯和賓夕法尼亞州的網絡廣播中心提供。現場訊號通過衛星廣播到 PA，然後通過 BGEA 網站進行編碼和串流傳輸。[12]
The first teleconferenced/webcast wedding to date is believed to have occurred on December 31, 1998. Dale Ficken and Lorrie Scarangella wed on this date as they stood in a church in Pennsylvania, and were married by Jerry Falwell while he sat in his office in 林奇堡.[13]
Virtually all major broadcasters now have a webcast of their output, from the BBC to CNN to Al Jazeera to UNTV in television to Radio China, Vatican Radio,[14] United Nations Radio and the World Service in radio.
On November 4, 1994, Stef van der Ziel distributed the first live video images over the web from the Simplon venue in Groningen.[15] On November 7, 1994, WXYC, the college radio station of the 北卡羅來納大學教堂山分校 became the first radio station in the world to broadcast its signal over the internet.[16]
網絡廣播[編輯]
有一類網絡廣播是對婚禮的廣播。[17][18]它使夫婦的家人和朋友可以在互聯網上即時觀看婚禮。它有時用於在異國舉辦的婚禮，例如坎昆和瑪雅里維耶拉、夏威夷州或加勒比，因為其他人一同旅行來親自參加婚禮是相當昂貴和困難的。[17]
通過網絡廣播播放葬禮也是一些殯儀館提供的服務。雖然它已存在近十年，但是更便宜的寬頻、旅行費用上漲以及對伊拉克和阿富汗的部署都導致了這種現象的增加。[19]
