黏膜下神經叢，（英文為submucous plexus、Meissner's plexus、plexus of the submucosa、plexus submucosus等）位於腸道壁黏膜下層。其中的神經來自於肌間神經叢，肌間神經叢又來自於腸繫膜上動脈附近副交感神經的神經叢，肌間神經叢的分支穿過環行肌纖維形成了黏膜下神經叢；該神經叢延伸出的神經節伸入黏膜肌層和黏膜。
黏膜下神經叢含有Dogiel細胞。[1]該神經叢的神經束比起肌間神經叢的神經束更纖細，其功能為刺激上皮組織層的細胞和黏膜肌層的平滑肌。 14%的黏膜下神經叢由叫做Dogiel II細胞的感覺神經元構成。Dogiel II細胞也被叫做腸初級傳入神經元（enteric primary afferent neurons）或者固有初級傳入神經元（intrinsic primary afferent neurons）。[2]
發現[編輯]
德國人喬治·邁斯納是首批對神經系統深入研究的人之一，他發現了黏膜下神經叢，故英文中黏膜下神經叢也作Meissner's plexus，意即邁斯納氏神經叢。
