珍妮·瑟訥比埃 (Jean Senebier，1742年5月6日–1809年7月22日[1],[2])是瑞士著名博物學家，也是一名牧師。1742年，瑟訥比埃出生於日內瓦的一個富商家庭。[3]他撰寫了大量有關植物生理學的文章，是光合作用研究的主要早期開拓者之一。瑟訥比埃於1775年首次發表了有關實驗方法的文章，[4] 後又於1802年發表了擴展著作。[5] 他對實驗方法的精確定義為法國著名生理學家克勞德·伯納德（Claude Bernard）五十年後的工作奠定基礎。[6] 瑟訥比埃還是一名日內瓦圖書管理員。[3]
科學研究[編輯]
瑟訥比埃深受瑞士博物學家夏勒·波內(Charles Bonnet)的影響。他還受意大利動物生理學家和生物學家拉扎羅·斯帕蘭札尼（Lazzaro Spallanzani）的影響，並且將斯帕蘭札尼的一些著作翻譯成法語。斯帕蘭札尼有關動物的研究也啟發了瑟訥比埃對植物的研究。 瑟訥比埃對植物的研究起始於光的影響，他發現植物可以吸收老鼠的「壞空氣」並為其提供「好空氣」，[7]即證明了植物消耗二氧化碳並製造氧氣的生理現象，這一現象後來稱為光合作用。他也因為這一發現而為人所知。[8],[9] 他發現植物的氧氣產量與植物可獲取的二氧化碳量基本成正比，[9] 他還發現葉子的綠色部分（薄壁組織）是二氧化碳轉化成氧氣的地方，[8] 並推斷植物以二氧化碳為養分。[9] 瑟訥比埃瑟訥比埃也曾與瑞士博物學家弗朗索瓦·胡貝爾 (François Huber)合作研究一些課題。[10]
