《Byte》是荷蘭唱片騎師馬汀·蓋瑞克斯和Brooks共同創作的歌曲[1][2]。歌曲於2017年4月7日通過蓋瑞克斯的唱片公司戳印唱片和索尼發行[3][4]。

蓋瑞克斯在邁阿密舉行的2017年超世代音樂節上首次發佈了這首歌曲。幾個月前他在Instagram以及音樂節前一天在Snapchat上都公開了這首歌的片段[5][6][7][8][9]。在他的推文中，他表示將於2017年4月7日星期五發佈兩個「東西」——歌曲《Byte》和與英國歌手杜娃·黎波（Dua Lipa）的上支單曲《害怕寂寞》的原聲版本[10]。《Byte》被視為蓋瑞克斯繼流行音樂《以愛之名》和《害怕寂寞》後「回歸電子舞曲」[11]。

該歌曲被比作他在2014年與Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike合作的歌曲《Tremor（英語：Tremor (song)）》[6]。
