早年生活与婚姻[编辑]

拉巴史迪理出生在新泽西州蒙克莱，她是教授费迪南德·拉巴史迪理（Ferdinand LaBastille）和音乐家艾尔玛·戈贝尔（Irma Goebel）的独生女。[1]拉巴斯蒂尔与C·V·“梅杰”·鲍斯（C.V. “Major” Bowes，1919年4月29日—2012年10月25日）结婚七年，鲍斯是纽约大驼鹿湖（英语：Big Moose Lake）的Covewood Lodge（英语：Covewood Lodge）的拥有者，结婚期间并没有子女。[2]

拉巴史迪理于1955年获得康奈尔大学的自然资源保护学士学位，在1958年获得科罗拉多州立大学的野生动物管理硕士学位，并在1969年在回到康奈尔大学获得她的野生生态学博士学位。[3][4]

她是在几家野生动物相关杂志的撰稿人，如《Ranger Rick（英语：Ranger Rick）》和《国家地理》。[5]

书本创作[编辑]

拉巴史迪理最受欢迎的书籍是由四本书籍组成的《林中女居民》（Woodswoman）系列，其内容是她与荒野——阿第伦达克山脉共存了四十年的关系。她受到亨利·戴维·梭罗的《湖滨散记》的启发，因而在1964年购买了在该山脉山脚湖边的土地，并建造了一间原木小屋于此生活。在她的第一本书《林中女居民》的开头，她记录了在当地两名木匠的帮助下获取材料并建造小屋的过程、在这个没有电力或自来水等舒适设施的小屋中生活过程以及她对荒野的探索。[6][7]

在她的第二本书《超越黑熊湖》（Beyond Black Bear Lake）中，她描写了如何在更远之处建造了命名为“Thoreau II”的第二个小屋，以获得更接近于《湖滨散记》的写作环境。这两本书都探索了她的友谊、爱情、过往婚姻、她与德国牧羊犬的紧密联系、大自然的潮起潮落以及她的保育工作。并也在此研究当时已经濒危、最终灭绝的巨鸊鷉。[6]

美国纪实计划[编辑]

在1971—1977年期间，美国环境保护局进行了名为美国纪实（英语：Documerica）的计划，聘请一些自由摄影师拍摄那些存在环境问题的地区及该局的相关活动。[8]拉巴史迪理主要在纽约州北部进行拍摄，展示了当地的自然美景、野生动物、环境问题、城市扩张以及小镇的日常生活。[8][9][10]

晚年生活及过世[编辑]

在拉巴史迪理的晚年生活中，她在山区隐居的时间越来越少。在一次采访中，她指出全球暖化将她湖边的小屋从全年宜居变成季节性度假小屋。在1960年代和1970年代初，湖面上结冰了一层厚厚的冰层，从11月底到4月底可以穿雪鞋横越湖面。但在随后的年份，越来越温暖的冬季气温和二月的降雨使湖面冰层变薄，使得横越湖泊变得危险且难以预测。由于没有适当的安全措施，拉巴史迪理选择停止在小屋度过冬天。她转而在靠近尚普兰湖的农场渡过冬季。但她的著作中，仍然认为其小屋是“庇护所、宁静之地，一个用于写作和思考和平的地方……”[5][11]2007年，她仍然在她的湖边小屋中部分时间居住。[12]但到了2008年，拉巴斯蒂尔因病而被迫在市区居住。阿迪朗达克协会（Adirondack Council）的自然保护主任约翰·戴维斯（John Davis）在2008年他穿越该地山脉的旅行中纪录了：“数十年来的挚友和公园捍卫者安妮·拉巴史迪理因为健康问题，第一次错过了在此地北方，她所爱小屋的夏天。”[13]拉巴斯蒂尔最终于2011年7月1日在纽约普拉茨堡的一家疗养院因阿兹海默症去世。[1]
