哈勃空间望远镜拍摄的星系团MCS J0416.1–2403。

MACS J0416.1-2403是一个红移值 z=0.397 的星系团,位于波江座[1]。200 kpc范围内质量为太阳的160兆倍。如果它的半径是950 kpc,总质量则是太阳的1.15 x 1015[2]。该星系团由大质量星系团巡天英语MAssive Cluster Survey发现(Massive Cluster Survey, MACS)[3][4]。该星系团可使位于它后方远处的星系产生重力透镜效应,使一个星系产生多个影像[5][6]
