歐若拉於1996年6月15日在挪威的斯塔萬格郡出生。她的母親梅·布里特（May Britt）為接生員，父親揚·歐斯坦·阿克斯內斯（Jan Øystein Aksnes）銷售員。[3][4]她有兩個姐姐，大姐米蘭達（Miranda）為化妝師，[5]二姐維多利亞（Victoria）為時裝設計師。[5][6]她出生後的三年內於Høle居住，並在此處培養她對自然、歌唱和傳統服飾的愛好。[3]她們之後舉家搬遷至烏斯鎮，該鎮位於霍達蘭郡下接近於卑爾根市的地方。她六歲開始編寫旋律，九歲開始作詞。[7]
2012—2016年：出道與《魔鬼摯友》[編輯]

2016年3月14日，歐若拉在美國電視台上首次演出，於吉米法倫今夜秀上成功表演了〈Conqueror〉[20]，後不久又在柯南秀上演出。 2016年7月25日她在霍華德·斯特恩秀場上演出〈Life On Mars〉，次日26日晚上，她在史蒂芬·科爾伯特晚間秀上演唱歌曲〈I Went Too Far〉。
2016年至今：《Infections Of A Different Kind - Step 1》[編輯]
歐若拉在發行首張專輯《魔鬼摯友》當天說，這是她所計劃的許多作品中的首張專輯。 2016年5月12日，她從的歐洲巡演回來後宣布，她已經準備好開始編寫和製造更多的材料，這些材料最終形成了她第二張專輯。 她在Facebook的一個活動中提及她有15首歌曲樣板並寫了約1000首歌/詩。 這項宣布後，她發行單曲〈I Went Too Far〉，並在2016年6月4日發行此歌曲的音樂錄影帶。[21]
2018年4月與8月 AURORA 發布了單曲〈Queendom〉[22]與〈Forgotten Love〉[23]，這兩首歌曲皆收錄在2018年9月28日發行的第二張專輯《Infections Of A Different Kind - Step 1》裡頭。 同年1月她於法國錄製此張專輯，並於Lollapalooza、Coachella等音樂祭演出了當中的歌曲。 她形容專輯中的第八首歌〈Infections Of A Different Kind〉[24]是她寫過最重要的歌曲。
據 AURORA 所述，她在創作期間發現自己在製作兩種非常不同類型的歌，於是她把第二張專輯分成兩個「steps」。 Step 2的全名為《A Different Kind Of Human – Step 2》，2018年11月於卑爾根完成錄音，並於2019年6月7日發行。她於2019年1月發布單曲〈Animal〉[25]，4月發布單曲〈The Seed〉，5月發布單曲〈The River〉，皆收錄於Step 2。
