柯倍德（J. Baird Callicott，1941年—），是美国哲学家，為环境哲学和伦理学的先鋒。柯倍德是北德克萨斯大学的教授，是哲学与宗教學系和应用科学研究所的成员。[1] 1969年至1995年间，柯倍德担任威斯康星大学史蒂文斯角分校哲学与自然资源教授，于1971年開設世界上第一门环境伦理学课程[2] 。1994年至2000年間，担任国际环境伦理学会副会长、主席。柯倍德亦曾客座耶鲁大学、加州大学圣塔芭芭拉分校、夏威夷大学、和佛罗里达大学。 [3]

利奥波德的《沙縣年鑑》是环境哲学的开创性著作。柯倍德，咸認是利奥波德土地伦理的主要倡議者[4]。柯倍德的作品《捍卫土地伦理》 （In Defense of the Land Ethic, 1989），探讨利奥波德观点的知识基础，为其提供更完整的哲学处理；随后出版的《超越土地伦理》（Beyond the Land Ethic，1999）进一步扩展利奥波德的环境哲学。柯倍德的《地球的洞察》（ Earth's Insights ，1994）是比较环境哲学的重要作品。 柯倍德与羅伯·佛洛德曼（英语：Robert Frodeman）共同主编2009年的《环境伦理与哲学百科全书》 [3]。

1941年5月9日，柯倍德出生于田纳西州的孟菲斯。父亲是孟菲斯艺术学院(现在的孟菲斯艺术学院)艺术家。[5] 1959年，柯倍德毕业于孟菲斯时為种族隔离的梅西克高中（英语：Messick High School），并就读于孟菲斯西南大学(现为罗德学院) 。1963年，获得荣誉哲学学士学位。 柯倍德获得了伍德罗 · 威尔逊雪城大学研究生奖学金；1966年，取得哲学硕士学位；1972年，取得博士学位。[1] 论文为《柏拉图的美学: 形型论的介绍》（Plato's Aesthetics: An Introduction to the Theory of Forms, 1971），時專注於古希腊哲学。

1966年，柯倍德在孟菲斯州立大学任教。1969年，柯倍德加入威斯康星州立大學史蒂文斯波因特分校哲学系。1960年代，作为黑人学生协会的教员顾问，在马丁·路德·金在该地区最后一次竞选期间，积极参与南方民权运动。 [6]
