遠東哲羅魚（Parahucho perryi）原先也被歸於哲羅魚屬（學名為Hucho perryi），但是基因學研究和證據表明它其實應該單獨屬於另外一個叫作副哲羅魚屬（Parahucho）的新屬[2][3][4]。
