北愛爾蘭警務處（英語：Police Service of Northern Ireland；縮寫：PSNI；愛爾蘭語：Seirbhís Póilíneachta Thuaisceart Éireann^[4]；低地蘇格蘭語：Polis Service o Norlin Airlan）是英國北愛爾蘭的警察部隊，前身為皇家歐斯特警察，後者在2001年根據彭定康報告的建議進行改革，2001年11月4日正式被PSNI取代。^[5]^[6]

起初，當時代表約四分之一北愛爾蘭選民的新芬黨拒絕支持PSNI，直到聖安德魯斯協議簽訂後，新芬黨才於2007年1月宣佈完全接受PSNI。^[7]

與英國其他地區警察部隊相比，PSNI在警官人數方面排名第三（僅次於倫敦警察廳和蘇格蘭警務處），在轄區面積上排名第二，僅次於蘇格蘭警務處。

組織[編輯]

PSNI的局長（Chief constable）由北愛爾蘭警務委員會（Northern Ireland Policing Board）任命，並須經北愛爾蘭司法部長批准。其局長是英國收入第三高的警官，僅次於大都會警務處局長和副局長。^[8]

根據彭定康報告，PSNI最初在法律上有義務實施肯定性行動政策，需要從天主教和非天主教背景各招募50%的實習警察，已解決天主教徒人數太少的問題。2001年，其前身RUC有近92%的警察都是歐斯特新教徒。許多政客表示「50：50」政策實際上導致差別待遇，是一種「積極歧視」，因此不公平^[9]。然而，北愛爾蘭人權委員會表示這一措施符合國際人權標準，在法律上不構成歧視^[10]。

到2011年2月，7,200名警察中有29.7%有天主教背景^[11]。經過公眾諮詢後，英國政府從2011年4月終止50：50優待政策^[12]。但2017年，PSNI又宣佈將引入新計劃以增加部隊中的天主教徒人數。^[13]
