吉拉德·荷伦布

吉拉德·荷伦布(Gerard Horenbout约1465年—1541年) 是一个法兰德斯的微图画家,属于晚期佛兰芒原始绘画家。有许多证据认为吉拉德有可能就是苏格兰詹姆士四世画师英语Master of James IV of Scotland[1][2]

荷伦布在根特居住和工作,并且以手抄本的插图画家闻名。他也制作彩色玻璃、壁毯、刺绣设计、铁制作品和镶板画。最早纪录到有关荷伦布事迹的资料可追溯到1487年,因参与圣湖公会英语Guild of Saint Luke[1][3]。参与公会后不久,荷伦布与玛格丽特·萨凡德斯(Margaret Svanders)结婚,并育有六子,其中卢卡斯英语Lucas Horenbout苏珊娜英语Susanna Hornebolt后来也成为画家。其他孩子还有还有儿子埃洛伊(Eloy)和尤里斯(Joris)[1]

他至少有两个学徒,一个在1498年,一个在1502年。在1515年,他担任萨沃伊公爵夫人玛格丽特英语Archduchess Margaret of Austria的画家,也曾短暂的在英王亨利八世宫廷里工作。1521年,丢勒带了和吉拉德之女苏珊娜英语Susanna Hornebolt有手抄本插图拜访他。他的儿子卢卡斯英语Lucas Horenbout也是一名知名画家[3]

他的太太萨凡德斯于1529年去世[4][5]。他为此做了一个黄铜匾牌,后来发现于伦敦富勒姆的全圣教堂英语All Saints Church, Fulham[6][7][nb 1]
