學院哥德式建築
學院哥德式建築（Collegiate Gothic）是哥特復興式建築的一種，吸取了英格蘭的都鐸式建築和哥德式建築的特色。它在19世紀末至20世紀初流行於美國和加拿大的大學和學院中，因而得名。21世紀初仍有許多大學建築採用這種風格。[1]
歷史[編輯]
美國的凱尼恩學院在1829年首次採用哥特復興風格來建造校內的建築[2]。隨著亞歷山大·傑克森·戴維斯為紐約大學建造的大學堂（University Hall，1833–37）等其他學校建築的出現[3][4]，哥特復興式建築開始大量出現於美國的大學校園中。1880年代開始，布林莫爾學院[5]、伍斯特學院、賓夕法尼亞大學、普林斯頓大學等許多大學也開始建造這類建築。
「Collegiate Gothic」一詞由亞歷山大·傑克森·戴維斯（Alexander Jackson Davis）在1853年提出[6][7]，不過直到1890年代開始這個詞才開始流行起來。[8]
