安東尼·霍普·霍金斯爵士（Sir Anthony Hope Hawkins，1863年2月9日—1933年7月8日），英國小說家和劇作家[1]，名著為《曾達的囚徒》（1894年），構築了虛構國家魯里坦尼亞[2]，這部作品後來改編為《羅宮秘史》等多部電影。
生平[編輯]
霍普曾就讀於萊瑟黑德聖約翰學校、牛津馬爾伯勒學院和牛津大學貝利奧爾學院[3]，1882年獲一等學位[4]。
霍普接受了律師培訓，1887年被中殿律師學院授予律師資格，曾是H·H·阿斯奎斯的學生。阿斯奎斯認為他是一位有前途的律師，對他轉向寫作感到失望。[5]
他的第一部作品是自費出版的《A Man of Mark》（1890）。1893年，他寫了三本小說，收錄於1894年的《多莉談話集》（The Dolly Dialogues） ，由亞瑟·拉克姆繪製插圖[6]。
1893年底，他在倫敦散步時產生構思出《曾達的囚徒》故事，一個月內完成了初稿，於次年4月出版[7]。這部作品一炮而紅，受到了安德魯·朗格和羅伯特·路易斯·史蒂文森的讚揚[8]。
它的成功也迎促使霍普放棄了法律生涯，成為全職作家，但後來的作品都沒有這部成功[9]。
霍普於1903年與伊莉莎白·薩默維爾（Elizabeth Somerville，1885/6–1946）結婚，育有兩子一女。1918年，他獲封下級勳位爵士。 [1]
霍普於70歲時因喉癌在薩里郡山邊沃爾頓的希思農場（Heath Farm）去世[1]。
